The Crafting Process

From raw earth to finished piece — a journey of patience and transformation

01

Wedging & Preparation

Each piece begins with carefully prepared clay, wedged by hand to remove air bubbles and ensure even consistency.

02

Wheel Throwing

On the potter's wheel, clay is centered and shaped. This meditative process requires focus, balance, and years of practice.

03

Trimming & Detailing

Once leather-hard, pieces are trimmed and refined. Handles, feet, and surface textures are added with precision tools.

04

Bisque Firing

The first firing transforms clay into porous bisque ware, preparing it to accept glaze while making it strong enough to handle.

05

Glazing

Glazes are mixed from raw materials and applied by dipping, pouring, or brushing. Each application creates unique results.

06

Final Firing

At over 1200°C, glaze and clay fuse together. The kiln is opened only when cool, revealing the finished transformation.

Elena Rivera

Elena Rivera

Ceramicist & Studio Founder

After years working in corporate design, Elena found her true calling in clay. She trained in traditional Japanese pottery techniques before establishing TerraForm in 2018. Her work explores the dialogue between earth and fire, creating pieces that honor the material while serving modern life. Each collection reflects her belief that the objects we use daily should bring beauty and meaning to our routines.

"Clay remembers every touch. That's why I work slowly, with intention."
